YETHINDIA COVID-19 AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Be aware, Be safe.
The Warangal district of Telangana (India), like the rest of the country and the world, was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic which laid its heavyweight on the health care system and lifesaving services. The outbreak has challenged the health resources and capacity to accommodate the uncontrolled increase in the number of cases in almost all countries around the world.
Following the World Health Organization’s public directives about preventive measures to stop virus transmission and disease spread, Dr. Vityala Yethindra decided to work for enabling communities to face this pandemic. He has taken initiative to raise awareness among school students of Warangal through practical demonstration with social distancing and providing QR-Code card (sanitizable) with information about mask-wearing, social distancing, and hand hygiene as a campaign material to the head of the school to forward a four-page document through Whatsapp to students with zero contact.
As a part of the COVID-19 awareness campaign, Dr. Yethindra will visit the schools in the Warangal to create awareness among the school students about the importance of mask-wearing outside the household or in school, without ignoring social distancing and good hand hygiene. Even masks and sanitizers will be donated for all students which will be handed over to respective school management.
The campaign engages the limited mobilization of three people from the local community aiming to reach over 5,000-10,000 students from 20 schools including 20 different areas of Warangal district for sharing live-saving COVID-19 prevention tips. Through this campaign, he is aiming to reach school students to provide proper orientation on personal hygiene during this Pandemic. Raising awareness as part of a larger effort to drive social change in schools.
The campaign covers several activities such as,
- Dissemination of right information about COVID-19 by supporting campaigns such as “DigitalIndia” and “Save Paper, Save Trees, Save Planet.”
- Awareness about preventive measures to keep school students safe from the spread of COVID-19. Providing information to protect from COVID-19 and various respiratory diseases.
- Providing awareness about online frauds/scams.
- Distribution of awareness material such as QR-Code cards, masks, and sanitizers. QR-Code card consists of 4-page animation representations and text focusing on mask-wearing, social distancing, and hand hygiene.
- Dissemination of information by practical demonstration to students with social distancing (Interactive sessions) and later providing QR-Code card (sanitizable) as a campaign material to head of the school to forward document through WhatsApp to students with zero contact.
We will continue to work together aiming for saving lives and serving humanity!
